I've been climbing and mountaineering for as long as I can remember and I love it! When not instructing, coaching or guiding, I spend the majority of my time in the outdoors and everything I do revolves around climbing and mountaineering; from training at the climbing wall, trad climbing on sea cliffs or in the mountains, sport climbing in Spain, to exploring the scrambles of North Wales.
I enjoy sharing my knowledge and passion with others, whether that's teaching climbing and navigation, coaching somebody towards achieving a specific goal, writing a training plan, guiding up classic routes.
I ensure my courses are tailored to your specific requirements, and I like to ensure that you gain as much information during your time with me - rather than just getting dragged up and down hills or rock climbs, I want you to learn and take new skills away with you, whilst having an amazing and safe time! I'd love to help you gain skills that allow you to go on independent adventures in the future, and it's always great to hear about what previous clients have got up to after a course with me!
I hold the 'Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor' qualification (MCI), which is the highest qualification for instructing and guiding in Summer conditions in the UK. I also hold the 'Winter Mountain Leader' qualification (WML). I strongly believe that no qualification can replace experience, so I go climbing and mountaineering as often as possible, as well as attending regular further training and CPD courses. Fortunately, when you love climbing and mountaineering, this isn't too hard! I've trad climbed up to E2, sport climbed 8a and bouldered 7C.
My courses are based in Snowdonia or The Peak District, but I do run bespoke courses further afield on request and also have the flexibility to run courses that aren't listed on my site, so please feel free to get in touch if you can't find what you're looking for, or if the dates and location of a course aren't suitable.
